April Checklist – National Car Care Month

Spring in full swing – the sun is out, birds are chirping and your vehicle may be in need of maintenance. April is National Car Care Month, and Kelowna Hyundai would like to remind you to give your car some extra attention.

Neglected vehicle care almost always means much higher costs down the line in the form of more extensive repairs or lost resale value. These results show that the majority of vehicle owners could save money by being proactive in the maintenance of their second largest investment.

To make sure you keep your vehicle running at peak performance for the summer driving season, make sure to check the following:

Fluids – including engine oil, power steering, brake, transmission, windshield washer solvent, and antifreeze/coolant levels.

Tires – if you haven’t already swapped your winter tires for summer tires, now is the time. In addition confirm your tire pressure and tread are satisfactory. Uneven wear indicates your need a wheel alignment.

Wipers and Lighting – with spring showers it is important to make sure your wiper blades are not worn. In addition your exterior and interior lights are working properly.

Air Conditioning and Ventilating System –with air conditioning season being right around the corner, you want to make sure your heating and cooling performance is checked to guarantee interior comfort.

Tune Up – everyone needs help every now and then, schedule a tune up to help the engine deliver the best fuel economy and overall better performance.

Brakes & Battery – make sure to have your battery and brakes checked during every oil change. Make sure your battery connection is clean, tight and corrosion-free, and your brake linings, rotors and drums are in top shape.
